Many scholars think that there must have been a nun verse here once and that our text is defective. Evidence they rely on is that a text of Tehillim 145 has been found among the Dead Sea texts and it includes a verse for nun.

Moreover, according to Rif and Rosh the essence of Pesukei De-zimra is the last six psalms of Tehilim (see Peninei Halakha: Prayer, ch. 14 nn. 1, 3, and 10).

Ashrei yoshvei veitecha Od yehal'lucha sela Ashrei haam shekacha lo Ashrei ha-am she-Adonai Elohav Praiseworthy are those who dwell in Your house; may they always praise You, Selah! Praiseworthy is the people for whom this is so, Praiseworthy is the people whose God is Hashem. From this perspective, Ashrei does not need a nun because when the individual lives in the light house and experiences the Unity, there is no fall. However, as we mentioned in our first posting on Ashrei, the Ashrei is compared to Psalm 119, another psalm with an acrostic structure that guides our steps when we occupy the dark house and do not experience the Unity. Community Tashlich Prayer Service & Shofar. We will meet at the center of the Holocaust Park facing the Sheepshead Bay. The service will include the sounding of the Shofar by Rabbi Winner. On the first day of Rosh Hashanah after the afternoon prayer, we go to a lake, river or to the sea (preferably one that has fish), and recite the Tashlich prayers, where we symbolically cast our sins into the water and leave our shortcomings behind us, thus starting the new year with a clean slate.
